Joana M. R. Curto is a Chemistry Professor at University of Beira Interior (www.ubi.pt) and Principal Researcher at Fiber Materials and Environmental Technologies Research Unit, FibEnTech-UBI, (https://www.ubi.pt/Entidade/FibEnTech) and CERES, Chemical Process Engineering and Renewable Resources for Sustainability, University of Coimbra (UC), Portugal. She is a Chemical Engineer from the Faculty of Science and Technology from University of Coimbra (UC), PhD in Paper Engineering from University of Beira Interior (UBI). She has been Coordinator of several R&D Projects, and is SPOC, Single Point of Contact, for the PRR Project “From Fossil to Forest FF2F”. Her research focuses on raw materials from polymers and molecules from renewable sources, such as cellulose fibers and active components. She is responsible for Chemistry for Biotechnology, and Advisor of master’s and PhD students, co-author of 2 book chapters, and more than 20 articles published in international journals. https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5379-7688 Her Team Research field is related to sustainability, bioresources, functionalization of fiber-based materials, composites, and multi-level structured materials, with enzymatic, chemical and physical modifications, from the molecular level to the nano and macro properties. Her expertise in optimization using advanced Simulation and IA methodologies to develop predictive capacity is a determinant tool in the development of materials that present improve performance and sustainable processes and lower ecological footprints. Dr. Omar received his PhD in Polymer Chemistry from Al-Azhar University (Egypt) in 2013, specializing in the development of smart polymeric hydrogels for advanced drug delivery applications. Currently, he is a Principal Investigator for a project funded by the European Union's Horizon-Marie Curie program at the Polymer Institute, Slovakia. Dr. Omar's research interests include development of polymeric carriers for controlled and sustained release of various types of drugs in addition to development of polymer composites for water treatment. He has supervised 35 PhD and MSc theses and has published 150 SCI publications, achieving an H-index of 53. Dr. Omar was listed among the World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Prof. Dr. Murat Yazıcı is a Full Professor in the Automotive Engineering Department at Bursa Uludag University, where he is actively involved in both research and teaching. His academic expertise focuses on the development and performance prediction of composite materials, lightweight structures, and nanomaterials under various mechanical and environmental conditions, with particular emphasis on their applications and finite element modeling. He earned his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Bursa Uludag University, completing his doctoral studies in 1999. Between 2000 and 2011, he served at the Vocational School of Technical Sciences as Program Head of Computer-Aided Design and as the founder and Head of the Industrial Die and Mold Programs. Between 2011 and 2013, Prof. Yazıcı was a visiting scholar at the University of Rhode Island (USA), where he conducted full-time academic research in advanced materials and mechanical systems. He continued his collaborative research there during the summer terms from 2013 to 2016, strengthening his international academic ties. In 2013, he established the Applied Mechanics and Advanced Materials Research Group (AMAMRG) and Laboratory, which he continues to direct. The AMAMRG Lab is home to 15 full-time and 12 part-time researchers and serves as an active center for high-impact research in applied mechanics and advanced materials. Prof. Yazıcı has successfully led more than 50 R&D projects funded by the European Union, TÜBİTAK, and various industrial partners. In recognition of his scientific contributions, he was appointed as a member of the TÜBİTAK Advisory Board in 2023, a role he continues to serve. He also heads the Polymer Materials Interdisciplinary Graduate Department and the Vehicle Dynamics and Control discipline within the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences at Bursa Uludag University. Since 2014, he has supervised the completion of over 30 MSc and 9 PhD theses, contributing significantly to graduate education and mentoring the next generation of researchers. With a scholarly portfolio of more than 200 publications and a substantial citation impact, Prof. Dr. Murat Yazıcı stands as a leading figure in automotive engineering and materials science, both in Turkey and on the international stage.

Ali Riza MOTORCU is a Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Engineering, Çanakkale, Turkey. He received his Ph.D. from Gazi University, Ankara, TURKEY. He is actively involved in teaching and research in metal-matrix and polymer composites, experimental design, modeling, simulation, optimization, multi-criteria decision making (MCDM), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), advanced machining, and machinability of hardened steels, super alloys (Inconel, Waspalloy), composites/laminated composite materials. Dr. Motorcu supervised 01 Ph.D. and 5 Master’s theses. He has published over 140 peer-reviewed articles in refereed international journals and conference proceedings, being cited more than 1680 times, according to the Google Scholar database. He has more than 18 nos. (15 Completed and 03 Ongoing) of Research and Development (R&D) Projects sponsored by various govt. agencies. There is 01 utility model registration. He is now serving as a reviewer of various international publishers such as Elsevier, Sage, Springer, etc. Moreover, Dr. Motorcu has been invited as Keynote/Invited Speaker, Section Chair, and member for several international conferences with themes in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Science. He has developed various fiber metal laminated composites for structural applications and proposed hybrid optimization modules recognized by multiple peer-reviewed journal publishers like Elsevier, Springer, Taylor and Francis, Sage, WSPC, etc. In addition to his academic work, such as teaching courses and scientific research projects, Dr. Motorcu served as department head in different departments for approximately 14 years. He also served as the Director of the College for approximately 4 years.

Lihua Zhan is a professor in the Light material Research Institute, Central South University. She engages in the integrated manufacturing theory and technology of lightweight and high-strength large components. Prof. Zhan has won 1 provincial first prize and 2 provincial and ministerial second prizes, published one monograph and more than 250 papers in prestigious journals as corresponding/co-corresponding author. Meanwhile, about 100 patents have been authorized and some patents have been taken up by lightweight manufacturing industry. Prof. Zhan has proposed the unified constitutive model for creep age forming process based on the dislocation evolution, this model has been incorporated into the international famous sheet metal forming software PAM-STAMP. Prof. Zhan is also sitting in the Editorial Board in some longstanding journals such as International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing and so on.

Dr. Syed Ahmed Shah started his research career dealing with the development, characterization, and in vivo evaluation of stimuli-responsive hydrogels in diversified biomedical and clinical applications. S.A. Shah has been awarded the Research Excellence Award 2022 and 2023 by Superior University, Pakistan considering his passion for increasing the translation of fresh ideas and concepts in the field of biomedical sciences from bench to bedside through research and innovations. Carrying out the research under the PASIFIC Programme, S.A. Shah is concentrated on enzyme-mediated and pH-responsive hydrogel for accelerated bone regeneration and repair, controlled drug delivery, bone tissue engineering, and bio-based polymeric systems for de novo bone formation and synergistically promote the healing of damaged bone tissues.

Damiano Rossi is an Assistant Professor at the University of Pisa (Italy). He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pisa (Italy) and a PhD from University College London (United Kingdom). His research focuses on industrial chemical processes and materials chemistry, including the recovery and valorisation of industrial waste, energy recovery from biomass through gasification and pyrolysis, the development of innovative biodegradable polymer materials and composites, and LCA process modelling. These activities are documented in over 30 scientific publications in international journals and conference proceedings. In addition to his academic research, Damiano Rossi has significant industrial experience, having worked as Head of R&D for an international company and as Project Manager for an Italian start-up. In these roles, he has led R&D projects in collaboration with organizations such as Nestlé, GSK, Moderna, and the University of Cambridge.

Prof. Hanshen Li received his B.S.E. degree in Electric Power Engineering and Automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Shanghai, China, and the M.E. degree in Information, Production and Systems Engineering from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, and M.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from SJTU, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), Beijing, China. Prof. Li has been a researcher at China Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute (EPPEI) since 2023. His research interests include planning and operation of active distribution networks, where Li has published 50+ papers with over 200 total citations. He has been an editorial board of Journal of Energy Science and Technology since 2023, and also member of IEEE, IEEJ, CSEE and CES.

I am Dechao Zhang, a Ph.D. student at Central South University. My research focuses on vibration-microwave curing molding processes for carbon fiber reinforced resin matrix composites. This includes the design of vibration/microwave manufacturing equipment and the analysis of how process parameters impact the quality of composite laminates. I have published four SCI(Q1) papers and hold eight Chinese invention patents.

Jinzhan Guo is a doctor from Central South University. His main research direction is the forming process of fiber metal laminates. He has published 1 paper in Thin-Walled Structures.

Sarah Baayyad, is currently a PhD student at Materials Science and Nanoengineering department –Mohammed VI Polytechnic University– Benguerir- Morocco. She received in 2021 her master’s degree in functional materials and additive manufacturing. She is currently working on the development, fabrication and characterization of high performance polymer magnetic composite materials based on thermoplastic polymers.
